Vincent Minor is a fine art photographer based out of New York City specializing in narrative fine art photography. Originally from Los Angeles his journey began at the age of 10 with piano/songwriting lessons. In 2007 he formed a record label, Social Science Recordings, which put out a band he signed “Obi Best” and his own self titled debut. While touring in 2010 he decided to move to NYC for new opportunities. After filming a trio of music videos he began experimenting with the camera used on one of his video shoots. After studying at a small local photography trade school in lower manhattan he began exploring techniques in similar ways to his songs. Often using himself as the subjects of characters while developing elements of story into his photos.

Inspired by the golden age of dutch painters like Vermeer and from surrealists like Magritte and Dali, Vincent explores color and light to emulate a “painterly feel” to his work. With a combination of photography and post production manipulation he strives to create worlds that are riddled with subconscious symbolism, expressing haunting parts of the human condition while blurring reality with imagination, metaphor and emotion.

Currently working on multiple series to complete in 2016 and showing in galleries and exhibitions.
